We Can Do This All Day — Disneyland Releases Trailer For ‘Rogers: The Musical’
Across their social channels, Disney Parks and Disneyland released a formal trailer for their real-world adaption of the faux-musical first seen in the Hawkeye Disney+ series. The new attraction will have it’s grand opening tomorrow, June 30th, at Disneyland’s California Adventure theme park.
The potential for what was initially an in-universe meta-reference to become a real stage production first appeared last year as a production of the song “Save the City” kicked off Marvel’s presentation at Disney’s annual D23 expo event.
What to expect from the new attraction
Disney’s official description for the 30-minute attraction states, "In theatrical splendor, relive the life of Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America! The musical retelling takes you from Steve’s humble beginnings during World War II to becoming Captain America and leading the Avengers. Be on the lookout for appearances by Peggy Carter and Nick Fury—and watch some of your favorite Avengers assemble in epic, show-tune style. It’s a larger-than-life one-act musical coming this summer for a limited time to the Hyperion Theater in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure Park.”
In addition to “Save the City,” fans can expect to see 5 new songs with music by Christopher Lennertz and lyrics by Jordan Peterson, Christopher Lennertz and Alex Karukas.
Rogers: The Musical Themed Offerings
Disney California Adventure Park is leaning into the moment with limited-time special offerings for both merchandise and food.
Rogers: The Musical t-shirts, magnets, and a holiday ornament will be available for purchase, along with other Avengers-related merchandise. Select food locations will serve "patriotic and heroically-themed food and beverages." Be on the lookout for a Sausage & Pepperoni Wraps; Cherry, Vanilla, and Blue Raspberry Shakes; the Patriotic Punch; and Pastrami Pretzel Dogs, among other options, located in Avengers Campus. In a Disney Park tradition, there will be a Rogers: The Musical popcorn bucket that comes with patriotic kettle corn.
How to see the show
The show is a limited-run attraction to help celebrate the yearlong Disney100 festivities. The first show will be June 30th and will run Tuesdays through Saturdays until August 31, 2023.
