First Look: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #308

Skybound Entertainment gave readers a first look at the next issue of the series from Larry Hama. Paul Pelletier continues as guest artist alongside series artist Tony Kordos and colorist Francesco Segala. Issue #308 features a main cover by Andy Kubert and Brad Anderson, as well as a black-and-white version of Kubert’s main cover and a 1:10 incentive variant by Brad Walker and Francesco Segala. The issue hits shelves July 17, 2024.

LOS ANGELES 06/21/2024 — Today Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with leading toy and game company Hasbro, revealed all-new variant covers and interior pages from G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #308. Guest artist Paul Pelletier (Aquaman) continues on the creative team alongside legendary series writer Larry Hama (Marvel’s Wolverine), artist Tony Kordos (Batman & Robin Eternal) and colorist Francesco Segala (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers). Featuring covers by the incomparable Andy Kubert (Marvel’s X-Men), the iconic series’ issue #308 arrives in comic book shops on July 17, 2024.

In addition to the main cover by Andy Kubert and colorist Brad Anderson, issue #308 will also feature an open-to-order variant cover with a black and white version of Kubert’s stunning main cover and will continue the instantly iconic 1:10 incentive cover series by Brad Walker (Detective Comics) and colorist Francesco Segala.  

The return of G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero continues the historic collaboration between Skybound and Hasbro, alongside the shared Energon Universe that features Void Rivals by Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead) and artist Lorenzo De Felici (Oblivion Song), TRANSFORMERS by writer Daniel Warren Johnson and artist Jorge Corona (Middlewest), Duke by writer Joshua Williamson (DC’s Superman, Dark Ride) and artist Tom Reilly (The Thing), and Cobra Commander by writer Joshua Williamson and artist Andrea Milana (Impact Winter: Rook).  

Kicking off this June, limited series Scarlett, from writer Kelly Thompson (Black Widow, Birds of Prey) and artist Marco Ferrari (Frontiersman) and Destro, from writer Dan Watters (Loki, Universal Monsters: Creature from the Black Lagoon Lives!) and artist Andrei Bressan (Dark Ride, Birthright), round out the lineup of action-packed G.I. JOE miniseries that introduce the iconic characters of the G.I. JOE and Cobra factions to the separate continuity of the Energon Universe. 

Skybound and Hasbro are currently running a history-making campaign for the Kickstarter-exclusive G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero Compendium Set which will collect every issue of the original 1982 comic book series in four definitive hardcover compendiums. The campaign is live now on Kickstarter, with stretch goals and campaign-exclusive products to be announced through the close of the campaign on Wednesday, June 26, at 12 p.m. PT. 

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #308 (Lunar Codes Below | SRP: $3.99) will be available on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.
