First Look: R. L. Stine’s STUFF OF NIGHTMARES RED MURDER #1

After announcing the new series back in June, BOOM! shared our first look at artwork from R.L Stine’s STUFF OF NIGHTMARES: RED MURDER #1. Stine will be joined by artist Adam Gorham, colorist Francesco Segala, and letterer Jim Campbell. Keep scrolling for a look at the awesome cover art and an unlettered preview of interior pages!

Red Murder is a self-contained story set in the world of Stuff of Nightmares, Stine's acclaimed horror comic book series, which has been praised for its scares, humor, and Stine's signature blend of suspense and horror. BOOM shared the following synopsis for the special issue:

Comic creator Alex Oxaca has been out of the spotlight for decades, and he’ll wish he’d remained in obscurity soon enough. A real ax murderer, cosplaying as the titular hatchet-wielding killer in his early 2000’s smash hit series, Red Murder, starts chopping down equally real victims at a horror convention!

STUFF OF NIGHTMARES: RED MURDER #1 will be released on September 27, 2023, just in time for the Halloween season. The issue’s main cover is by Francesco Francavilla, with variants by Adam Gorham , Miguel Mercado, A.L. Kaplan, Becca Carey, and Reiko Murakami.
