Guillem March to Write and Draw Romantic Thriller ‘Ofiusa’
Image Comics announced Ofiusa, a six-issue romantic thriller written and illustrated by Guillem March, the artist behind runs on Batman, The Joker, Catwoman, and his own creator-owned Karmen, arriving September.
Ofiusa #1 is on sale September 16. The full cover lineup, all by March, includes three open order covers, a 1:25 incentive, a blank sketch variant, and a NSFW polybagged variant. Check them out below!
The story splits across two timelines. In one, a young entrepreneur named Joan falls fast for the alluring Mar. In another, Joan crosses paths with a mysterious woman named Isla on an island paradise. The result is a love triangle where each person is concealing something, with a buried secret from the past waiting to surface. March balances the seduction and the sun-soaked setting against a slow reveal of who these people really are.
"With Ofiusa, I've created the kind of comic I enjoy reading as a fan," said March. "I love the personal projects of creators with a unique voice. They might be a bit risky or outside the mainstream, and they're certainly not for readers looking for more conventional comics, but they exude soul and a love for a job well done. Ofiusa has taken many years of work, and it's a bit dizzying to think it's finally seeing the light of day, but it's the comic I'm most proud of to date."
