IDW Dark Adds Two New Miniseries

IDW revealed two new five-issue miniseries under its IDW Dark horror imprint, both built from Paramount Pictures film franchises: Any Given Smile, drawn from Smile, and A Quiet Place: Rising Tides, set in the world of A Quiet Place. Any Given Smile #1 arrives in comic shops in September 2026, with A Quiet Place: Rising Tides #1 following in November 2026.

Both books join an IDW Dark lineup that mixes licensed properties like Event Horizon, The Twilight Zone, and Sleepy Hollow with originals such as Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, The Exorcism at 1600 Penn, and 30 Days of Night. The imprint's influence spreads further in October with IDW Goes Dark variants across the publisher's line.

Any Given Smile comes from writer Stephanie Williams, artist Pablo Collar, colorist Triona Farrell, and letterer Ariana Maher. The story drops the Smile Entity into the world of 1995 professional football. As the Sharks prepare for the championship game in the American Arena League's 20-year history, their breakout backup quarterback is squeezed between his teammates, his fans, and the gambling debts he owes the city's underworld. A wave of suicides pulls a suspicious sports journalist into that world to dig at how the deaths tie back to the big game, while the Smile Entity's visions start threatening everyone's payouts, sanity, and lives.

A Quiet Place: Rising Tides reunites writer Declan Shalvey and artist Luke Sparrow, with colorist Colin Craker and letterer Jodie Troutman. It follows Grace, who tracks down her estranged father at a rundown houseboat in the Florida Keys just as the alien invasion ends the world. Stranded on open water, the only place the sound-hunting creatures can't easily reach, she and her ailing father try to last as his oxygen runs low, supplies vanish, the predators along the shoreline grow smarter, and a hurricane closes in.
