Marvel Announces ‘Marvel Tōkon: First Strike’ One-Shot and a Wave of Fighting Souls Variant Covers
Marvel announced Marvel Tōkon: First Strike #1, a comic one-shot timed to the August 6 launch of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, the new 4v4 tag-team fighting game from PlayStation Studios and Arc System Works arriving on PS5 and PC. The one-shot is written by Steve Orlando, Tom Waltz, and Josh Trujillo with art by Bruno Büll, Áthila Fabbio, and Ryusei Yamada.
The issue follows the game's two central factions, the Fighting Avengers and the Unbreakable X-Men, and reveals the backstories of both the playable heroes and the game's antagonists, the Promoter and the Champion. The content is exclusive to the comic and won't appear anywhere else.
Marvel is also releasing 20 Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls variant covers across select titles in August and September, spotlighting the game's character designs and artwork. The full schedule:
