MCU, Star Wars Films Get New Release Dates After Disney Shakeup

As first reported by Pamela McClintock and Aaron Couch in the The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has reshuffled many of the release dates for its movies for as far into the future as 2031. Impacted movies span multiple franchises, including Marvel, Star Wars, and Avatar.

There was one piece of good news amidst all of the delays — Deadpool 3 will now release in May 2024 rather than December 2024 as initially planned.

The report, nor Disney, have announced a specific reason for all the changes though it is believed to be due to the ongoing writers’ strike that has currently paralyzed much of Hollywood. Two Marvel movies, Thunderbolts and Blade, have delayed production altogether due to the strike.
