Netflix Releases First Trailer for One Piece Series
As part of their 2023 TUDUM event, Netflix released a trailer for the upcoming live action One Piece series, which they also announced will debut on August 31st!
The series is based on the One Piece Japanese shōnen manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It was first released July 22, 1997 and has been collected into 105 tankōbon volumes. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gains the power to stretch like rubber after eating a Devil Fruit. Luffy sets out on a journey to find the One Piece, a treasure that will make him the King of the Pirates.
One Piece is one of the most popular manga series in the world, with over 490 million copies sold worldwide. It has also been adapted into a popular anime television series, several feature films, and video games. The anime television series, which is currently available to stream on Netflix, has been running since 1999, and is the longest-running anime series of all time. It is also one of the most popular anime series in the world, with over 1,000 episodes aired.
The live action series will star Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
