At yesterday’s TUDUM event, Netflix provided fans with a sneak peek at the upcoming live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series, including character images, what is likely to be footage from the series intro, and a (broad) premiere.

Read more about the latest updates below and let me know in the comments if you’re excited for this new series. Stay tuned to Derby Comics for more updates on the show as the are released and don’t forget to follow us on social media to stay in the know: Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter!

Character Reveals

While it’s not much, the four character photos shared represent our first glimpse at how Netlfix plans to bring these characters to life. The characters of Aang (Gordon Cormier), Katara (Kiawentiio), Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Zuko (Dallas Liu) all look much better than the 2010 live-action The Last Airbender film!

Title Video

The video revealed is quite short and doesn’t show any content from the show itself, but the transcendental music playing over the elements is enough to get me very excited!

Release Date

This may have been the biggest disappointment in Netflix’s announcement. The studio gave no specific release date, or month for the matter, only going so far to say that the series will premiere in 2024.
