R.L. Stine’s ‘Stuff of Nightmares: Red Murder’ Announced by BOOM!

BOOM! Studios has announced Stuff of Nightmares: Red Murder, a new one-shot comic book written by legendary horror author R.L. Stine and illustrated by Adam Gorham. The issue will be released on September 27, 2023, just in time for the Halloween season.

Red Murder is a self-contained story set in the world of Stuff of Nightmares, Stine's acclaimed horror comic book series, which has been praised for its scares, humor, and Stine's signature blend of suspense and horror.

BOOM! shared the following about the issue:

Comic creator Alex Oxaca has been out of the spotlight for decades, and he’ll wish he’d remained in obscurity soon enough. A real ax murderer, cosplaying as the titular hatchet-wielding killer in his early 2000’s smash hit series, Red Murder, starts chopping down equally real victims at a horror convention!

Francesco Francavilla’s art will grace the main cover of STUFF OF NIGHTMARES: RED MURDER #1, with variant covers from a collection of top artists, including: Adam Gorham, Miguel Mercado, A.L. Kaplan, Becca Carey, and Reiko Murakami.
