Sony Releases First Poster and Trailer for Kraven the Hunter
Sony just dropped our first look at the upcoming Kraven the Hunter movie via a brand new poster (above) and trailer (below).
The trailer is a visually stunning and action-packed introduction to the character of Kraven. It also hints at the complex motivations that drive Kraven, and it suggests that the film will be a dark and gritty take on an anti-hero character. The end of the trailer also teases Aleksei Sytsevich becoming Rhino.
In the comics, Kraven is primarily known as one of the greatest big-game hunters in the Marvel Universe and a frequent adversary of Spider-Man. Kraven, whose real name is Sergei Kravinoff, first appeared in 1964 in The Amazing Spider-Man #15. He is depicted as a skilled tracker and athlete who possesses enhanced strength, agility, and senses. Kraven often utilizes a variety of weapons and traps in his pursuit of challenging prey, including Spider-Man himself. Over the years, his character has undergone various story arcs and developments, showcasing both his relentless pursuit of trophies and complex motivations.
The upcoming film is directed by J. C. Chandor and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Sergei Kravinoff / Kraven, a big-game hunter who is obsessed with proving that he is the greatest hunter in the world. Russell Crowe plays Kraven's father, Nikolai Kravinoff, a Russian aristocrat who taught his son everything he knows about hunting. Ariana DeBose stars as Calypso, a voodoo priestess who is Kraven's love interest and one of his most powerful allies. Fred Hechinger plays Dmitri Smerdyakov / Chameleon, Kraven's half-brother who is a master of disguise. Christopher Abbott plays The Foreigner, a mysterious figure who is tracking Kraven and his allies. Alessandro Nivola plays Aleksei Sytsevich / Rhino, a Russian mobster who is hired by Kraven to help him with his mission.
