‘The Lion King’ Roars Onto Shelves from Dynamite
Dynamite Entertainment announced the newest addition to their Disney comics line will be The Lion King from creator Edwin Galmon. The fan-favorite story will arrive on shelves this November and take place before the award-winning 1994 film. Readers will get to see Mufasa teaching Simba the ways of the Savannah.
While Galmon will provide the series’ main covers, artists Meghan Hetrick, Jacob Edgar, and Giulia Lomurno will provide variant covers.
"Having the honor and opportunity to work with the regal The Lion King franchise is a humbling experience. This is where my childhood imagination meets my adulthood craftsmanship and with excitement, I hope people really enjoy the story we have cooked up!," said writer and artist Edwin Galmon. "As a kid my favorite parts of The Lion King movie were all the scenes featuring Mufasa and Simba together because I related to how much I love and respect my dad. With that in mind, I wanted to have more father-son bonding, loving guidance, goofy playtimes and mentorship themes for Simba to enjoy with his dad."
