Full Review
David Pepose has been crushing it with Space Ghost and issue #10 is a strong example of why. This isn't the Saturday morning cartoon version of the character. This is a Space Ghost who gets beaten badly, makes hard choices, and carries the full weight of a guardian who refuses to quit even when he probably should. This issue leans into all of that with considerable confidence.
The central conflict pits Space Ghost against Tempus the Time-Master (teased at the end of the previous issue), and it's a tough fight in every sense. Tempus is a menacing villain who doesn't just overpower Space Ghost. He toys with him, using every tool at his disposal to keep the hero off balance and on the defensive. Pepose gives Tempus enough personality to make him more than just a villain-of-the-week plot obstacle, and the dynamic between the two carries the issue.
The bond between Space Ghost, Jan, and Jace (and Blip!) has been one of the strengths of this run, and this issue continues to put it front and center in a way that feels earned. These aren't just sidekicks or tagalongs. They're family, and Pepose writes them that way. Without giving too much away, the issue closes on a bold narrative swing that reframes the series in an exciting direction. There's a lot to look forward to heading into the next arc.
Jonathan Lau's art handles the issue's many moving pieces well. The action sequences are dynamic and easy to follow, which is particularly meaningful in this issue. Andrew Dalhouse's colors bring consistent warmth and energy to the chaos, keeping each page visually inviting even when the action gets brutal. Taylor Esposito's lettering brings real punch to the book's many sound effects without overwhelming the panels.
Space Ghost continues to be one of the consistently strong ongoings out today and issue #10 sets the stage for what looks to be an epic next chapter.
