Alexander Lozano Provides '80s-Inspired X-Men Variant Covers
Marvel announced a set of six '80s-themed variant covers by Alexander Lozano, putting Storm, Wolverine, Colossus, Rogue, Magik, and Mystique in looks pulled straight from the decade of arcades and synth.
The covers run across issues of X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, X-Men United, and Wolverine through July and August, landing alongside X-Men: Outback, the new Steve Orlando and Stephen Segovia series that returns to the stretch when the team was based in the Australian Outback.
Check out the first four covers revealed:
"I discovered my love for the X-Men back in the 1980s," Lozano shared. "For me, there's hardly anything that captures the unique sound and atmosphere of growing up in the '80s better than the X-Men in their stylish costumes. They were the unsung heroes who had to face impossible odds. But while the X-Men were busy fighting Magneto, Dark Phoenix and the Hellfire Club, a young generation was trying to find its own identity—somewhere between Miami Vice and punk. So I thought it only fair to put my beloved X-Men through their greatest test of all: the Uncanny '80s fashion!!!"
