Apocalypse Returns With a New Mission

Marvel announced Tomb of Apocalypse, a five-issue limited series from writer Ashley Allen and artist Domenico Carbone coming later this summer. In the series, Jubilee is pulled out of her everyday routine and into Apocalypse's orbit when a strange object from Mars leads her and Wolverine to a dig site in Egypt. The quest turns out to be far more dangerous than either expected. What they find buried underground connects directly to whatever the ancient mutant has been planning from Arakko, and they won't be making it out alone. The pair of X-Men will cross paths with Rictor and Shatterstar along the way.

Here’s the full solicitation from Marvel:

ANCIENT AND UNFATHOMABLE POWER!

From his exile in space, the shadow of the mutant called APOCALYPSE looms over all life on the pale blue dot from whence he hailed. Once dedicated to ensuring the strongest and fittest mutants would inherit the Earth, now Apocalypse’s attentions have turned to a new deadly undertaking – for which he will need the unique abilities of…JUBILEE and WOLVERINE!

"For Earth's mutants, it has taken time to regroup and process the fall of Krakoa," said Allen. "But unfortunately for our heroes, Apocalypse values action. And he's never been one to miss out on an opportunity."

Tomb of Apocalypse #1 (of 5) is on sale August 26 with a main cover by Rod Reis and variants by Nogi San, Ivan Shavrin, Fabrizio De Tommaso, and a virgin variant by Pablo Villalobos.
