Dark Horse Takes a Noir Detective Into Night City
Dark Horse Comics, working with CD Projekt Red, revealed Cyberpunk 2077: Jayk's Case, a four-issue murder mystery set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 from writer Jordan Thomas, artist Nicola Izzo, colorist Igor Monti, and letterer Frank Cvetkovic.
The series follows a private investigator hired to track down the killer of a high-ranking executive, though the job is about escape rather than justice. Tangled up with a web of Militech agents, he has to reach the killer before they do and figure out what truth someone wants buried. With one of Night City's deadliest gangs pulled into it, the death of a single corpo may only be the start.
"Writing crime noir stories is always an absolute blast, so I was excited when Dark Horse approached me to tell a gumshoe detective story in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. I hope fans will fall in love with the new characters we're introducing to Night City and be thrilled by the vicious, blood-soaked journey we've sent them on," said Thomas.
Izzo added, “I’ve always been fascinated by and excited about the world of Cyberpunk 2077, ever since the first trailer. I could spend hours drawing this world and its characters in all their detail.”
Cyberpunk 2077: Jayk's Case #1 (of 4) is on sale October 21st with a main cover by Izzo and variants from Jorge Fornés, Richard Blake, and Nimit Malavia.
