‘Gargoyles’ Returns With New Ongoing Series

Dynamite Entertainment announced a new ongoing Gargoyles series will arrive this August from franchise creator Greg Weisman and artist Gerardo Gambone, with colors by Robby Bevard and letters by Jeff Eckleberry.

The series picks up the story in 1997, continuing from where the previous Dynamite comics left off following the chronology of the animated show. At the center of the new arc, a gargoyle egg nicknamed "Egwardo" has been stolen by longtime villain Demona, and as the Manhattan Clan scrambles to recover it, a newly awakened ancient evil complicates everything. Weisman says the series is designed to work for longtime fans and total newcomers alike.

"For me, this is a story thirty years in the making. One I've been longing to tell," said Weisman. "So longtime fans are seriously not going to want to miss this. At the same time, it's also a great place for new readers who know nothing about Gargoyles to jump aboard. We're making sure that everything you need to know is right there on the page. Your Gargoyles addiction begins here and now!"

Gargoyles #1 is on sale August 2026 with covers by Meghan Hetrick, Drew Moss, Frank Paur, and Sebastian Piriz. A mystery blind bag is also available through local comic shops, containing three copies of the issue with exclusive variants including lineart, foil, and metal editions.
