Kelly Thompson Heads to DC for New ‘Birds of Prey’ Series

In a tweet yesterday, all-star writer Kelly Thompson announced she’ll be writing a new ‘Birds of Prey’ series for DC Comics launching this Fall! Reuniting with Thompson on this new series are the creative time of Leonardo Romero and Jordie Bellaire. All three were part of Marvel’s critically acclaimed 2016 Hawkeye series. Thompson’s tweet indicated the series will see the “most dangerous” team yet and be led by Black Canary. Thompson’s tweet also featured a drawing of Black Canary by Romero.
This announcement marks Thompson’s first on-going series at DC and is set to be her first project after wrapping up the current run on Marvel’s Captain Marvel, which will end with it’s milestone 50th issue on June 14, 2023.
