Vault to Launch Kickstarter for New Queer Comic written by Steve Orlando

Vault announced an exciting project from writer Steve Orlando and artist Giopota that will be launching on Kickstarter starting June 13, 2023. The project, titled 'Sainted Love’ is billed as “a sexy time-travel romance too powerful to be contained to a single era,” but the publisher isn’t sharing much beyond that — for now.

As a fellow native New Jerseyan and having read much of Orlando’s work and meeting him in person at a Third Eye Comics signing event, I will admit I am a bit biased in saying I’m very much looking forward to learning more about this series and that I’ll be supporting the Kickstarter once it launches. Hopefully we’ll get to see this story play out and hopefully it’s as sexy as advertised!

Orlando's first major work was DC’s 2012 Midnighter series, which he co-created with ACO. The series was a critical and commercial success, and it was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book. Orlando followed up Midnighter with the 2013 series Wonder Woman, which was also a critical and commercial success. In 2022, Orlando began writing the Marvel series Scarlet Witch. The series has been praised for its exploration of Wanda Maximoff's character and its focus on themes of grief, loss, and trauma. He is a vocal advocate for diversity in comics, and he has spoken out against the industry's history of sexism and homophobia.
