First Look at Jonathan Hickman’s ‘G.O.D.S.’

As anticipation builds around the October launch of Jonathan Hickman & Valerio Schiti’s G.O.D.S., today Marvel shared a first look at cover art by Mateus Manhanini and a lettered preview for the debut issue — both of which you can see below!
Originally teased as an unnamed project back at New York Comic Con 2022, Marvel officially announced G.O.D.S. back in March and shared further background on who these G.O.D.S. are, how they will factor into the Marvel Universe and several variant covers — revealing character designs for the first time.
Today’s reveal showcases Manhanini’s cover featuring one of the new G.O.D.S. we’ll be meeting. We also see two new characters in the interior preview pages: THE-POWERS-THAT-BE and THE-NATURAL-ORDER-OF-THINGS. Marvel’s reveal included these additional details on the new series:
Alongside familiar faces like Doctor Strange, Clea, Mister Fantastic, and Doctor Doom, the agents of these groups learn of a Babylon Event, a rare occurrence that has the potential to upend the forces behind existence such as Eternity, Infinity, and the Living Tribunal. This cataclysmic threat will bring a eons-old war out of the shadows for the first time and shed light on long-guarded secrets of the cosmos!
What happens when THE-POWERS-THAT-BE meet THE-NATURAL-ORDER-OF-THINGS? The infinite détente between THE-NATURAL-ORDER-OF-THINGS and THE-POWERS-THAT-BE nears an end. Old acquaintances are reunited during a Babylon Event. The Lion of Wolves throws the worst parties. Don’t look under the table. There’s a John Wilkes Booth penny on the ground.

How do the G.O.D.S. fit into the Marvel universe?
Marvel promises that the characters in this "breathtaking new saga" are "in a secret conflict at the crossroads of science and magic!" Hickman has stated that G.O.D.S. will take place "in its own special corner of the Marvel Universe" and will bring a fresh take on some familiar faces and ideas. Some of these new characters are also expected to show up in some of the highest profile Marvel events like the annual Hellfire Gala this month.
