More Details and Covers Revealed for ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ #1000
Marvel revealed a main cover by Pepe Larraz and new story details for Amazing Spider-Man #1000, the milestone issue from writer Joe Kelly and artist Pepe Larraz that closes out a turning point in Kelly's current run while collecting anniversary stories from a deep bench of Spider-Man creators.
The issue pairs Kelly and Larraz's main saga with short stories from creators across Spider-Man's history. Dan Slott and Marcos Martin revisit the night that changed Peter Parker's life in "Now I Can Rest," a look back at Uncle Ben's death. Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen team Spider-Man with the Avengers against a group of his worst enemies in "The Gesture." Noah Hawley, the screenwriter behind Alien: Earth and Fargo, makes his comics debut alongside Patrick Gleason on "Still Standing." Frank Miller and Peach Momoko collaborate for the first time on "Tears of the Spider-Queen," sending Spider-Man up against the ninjas of the Hand.
Beyond Larraz's main cover, the issue carries variants from Alex Ross, who takes on one of Spider-Man's defining moments, and Mark Bagley, whose cover features Spidey's rogues' gallery. Immonen, Martin, and Gleason each contributed promo art tied to their stories, with Gleason's arriving as another of his Web-Head covers.
Amazing Spider-Man #1000 is on sale September 16th from Marvel.
