New ‘Welcome to Twilight’ Miniseries Announced

Dark Horse Comics revealed Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight—Villains and Vignettes, a new four-issue anthology run from Minor Threats creators Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt and a deep guest roster, returning to the desperate villains, washed-up heroes, and fallen monsters of Twilight City. Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight—Villains and Vignettes #1 (of 4) features covers by Scott Hepburn and Joe Quinones and hits shelves October 28th.

The series stacks several short stories into each issue. The first opens with Mark Waid and Scott Kolins on a story about superpowers, fanaticism, and manosphere supplements, then hands off to Blum and Oswalt teaming with Mike Mignola to dig into the tragic origins of the dead kaiju that the people of Redport live inside. Cocreator Scott Hepburn closes the issue with art by Cary Nord, traveling back into Frankie Follis's past to find the moment Playtime was truly born.

The following issues keep the guest list going. Issues #2 through #4 bring a Justice League International reunion from J.M. DeMatteis and Kevin Maguire, a Rogues Gallery reunion from Hannah Rose May and Justin Mason, and a pairing of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Spaceballs 2 screenwriter Dan Hernandez with The Boys cocreator Darick Robertson.

"This volume of Welcome to Twilight was an absolute dream come true, bringing together iconic creators who inspired the comics we write as well as some of the greatest up and coming talent who constantly make us jealous - all unleashing their twisted brains on the world of Minor Threats and populating new corners of our fantastic city," said Blum. "And I don't use 'dream' lightly, I'm still not sure we actually got to write a story for Mike friggin' Mignola. If this was a prank, no one tell me."
