Marvel Drops ‘Avengers: Armageddon’ #1 Trailer and Preview
Marvel released an official trailer and preview pages for Avengers: Armageddon #1, the debut issue of the new event series from Chip Zdarsky with art by Delio Diaz and Frank Alpizar. The issue hits shelves June 10 with a main cover by Dike Ruan. Every copy of Avengers: Armageddon #1 includes an exclusive "Warstorm Surge" Magic: The Gathering promo card with art by Ryan Stegman. The card won’t be available anywhere else.
The trailer reveals the central threat driving the series: Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, the Red Hulk, has conquered Latveria and found a machine left behind by Doom that lets him see possible futures, including every strategy the Avengers might use against him. Iron Man, Captain Marvel, the Fantastic Four, and others are preparing for a battle against someone who already knows how to beat them. The best hope for stopping Ross turns out to be a new hero whose power may be enough to turn the tide, but stopping Red Hulk comes at a cost that will reshape how the world sees its mightiest heroes.
The preview pages pick up the story in the immediate aftermath of the latest Captain America arc, with Steve Rogers in a coma and Red Hulk already looking beyond Latveria for his next move, as the remaining heroes scramble to assemble a response.
