Marvel Reveals Cover for ‘Avengers: Armageddon’ #2 and Details on ‘Captain America’ #13

Marvel shared the cover for Avengers: Armageddon #2, the second chapter of the five-issue event series by writer Chip Zdarsky and artists Delio Diaz and Frank Alpizar, on sale July 8. The issue teases the arrival of a brand-new hero whose abilities appear to surpass those of both Red Hulk and the Avengers themselves. Marvel indicated that fans looking to learn more about this mystery character before the issue hits should check out Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon, which is seeding this character's backstory. The main cover for the issue is by Dike Ruan, with variants by Adi Granov.

Also on sale in July is Captain America #13 by Zdarsky with guest artist Ton Lima and cover by Valerio Schiti, on sale July 15. The issue continues a companion arc to the event, with Steve Rogers stranded far from Earth and forced into an uneasy alliance with Doctor Doom to find his way back before Armageddon arrives.

"We've been building to this moment for well over a year, with a new character who will truly unsettle the world," said Zdarsky. "I'm delighted at the devastation that follows. Is that weird?"
