Review: ‘Bronze Faces’ #3
The story continues to impress with its third issue, expertly balancing rising tension with visually stunning storytelling. Shobo & Shof have crafted a narrative that’s as much about the intricate relationships between Sago, Timi, and Gbonka as it is about their global cause. The dialogue is veiled, as long-standing relationship dynamics threaten to dismantle the present-day operations, while Alexandre Tefengki’s art reveals the emotional depth of the story through intimate and provocative visuals.
The stakes are high, with the group’s growing notoriety drawing attention from the media and adversaries alike. The media scrutiny adds an extra layer of complexity, questioning the group’s true motivations and causing their Ogiso allies to second-guess decisions. Tefenkgi’s art perfectly captures the emotional intensity of these moments, making it impossible not to be invested in the characters’ struggles.
If I have one criticism, it’s that the supporting cast feels somewhat underdeveloped. A deeper dive into their backstories and reasons for joining Ogiso would add even more richness to the narrative. Nevertheless, Bronze Faces #3 is another compelling read.
With tensions simmering, I’m eager to see how it all eventually boils over. The stage is set for a dramatic confrontation, and I have no doubt Shobo, Shof, and Tefenkgi will deliver in an epic way.
